Since 1986, Kancho Grant has focused much of his attention on coaching and spreading the true values of Martial Arts. Even though he has coached students to win at least five Australian Titles and one world title in the last six years, his main concern is passing on the true message of martial arts including, respect, courtesy, discipline, perfecting techniques and displaying courage. These values are enforced throughout junior, intermediates and senior classes. It is through these teachings that all students have learned to respect themselves, their bodies, their fellow students, families and friends. Bukido students are also encouraged to believe in their endless abilities and are challenged to display a positive attitude in every class. Sensei Grant also used his skills in meditation and fitness training to assist in his son's recovery after a major car accident. He helped his son overcome obstacles doctors never believed possible. Positive thinking was a major part of his son's recovery and still is today as he continues to encourage his disabled son in daily life.
